Hi, I'm Heide Dee.
I think dance should always be fun!
Dance found me as an adult, (My wanting to do something both social and active) and I never looked back.
Great friends and memories are made while learning this lifetime skill, good for any and all ages.
What began as a dare to go to the Saddle Rack in San Jose, CA. turned into a few times a week line dance habit.
This "habit," in turn, opened the door to other places in the Bay Area for line and country couples dancing.
For instance... The Rodeo Club, Cheers in Sunnyvale, both the Cadillac Ranches, South Forty, etc.
Studio classes to improve my dance led to couples competition in the UCWDC for 6 years.
My partners and I danced Waltz, Cha Cha, Country 2-Step, Nightclub 2-Step, both East and West Coast Swing even Hustle and a little Polka. When I took up Salsa, I happened to meet my life partner, AL, on the dance floor. :)
AL and I joined a magical Lindy Swing performance team for several seasons called "The Hot Bloods" at San Francisco City College, begun by instructor, David Blood.
It was during this time a good friend dubbed me "DanceMonster." I loved to dance so much and still do!
For the last few years we have been part of the Ballroom Blitz dance team, run by the amazing Jeff Chandler & Alise Halbert.
The point of all this... Dance can lead you in many directions and it's never too late to start!
I've met so many wonderful and interesting friends through dance and you can, too.
Dance builds confidence and is a great form of therapy and exercise.
Currently, I teach at TNC (Tuesday Night Country) in Sunnyvale and Bourbon Highway in Walnut Creek. I'm also starting a very beginning line dance class in Vallejo and appear at various venues throughout the area. Check the calendar for where.
There is something for every level.
Hope to share our love of dance with you on the floor
somewhere soon! :)
